Brief Description: Certification course for those responsible for physical conditioning programs.

Full Description: This course will provide PTC certification to those responsible for the physical conditioning programs within their respective Agencies, or at a Police Academy.

Course topics include,
- Components of physical fitness assessments
- Determining levels of fitness
- Components of Physical Conditioning Programs; Weight training, Aerobics, Cardiovascular, and Flexibility
- PT issues related to runners
- Anatomy of the muscular system & kinesthetics
- Strength and conditioning
- Prevention of injuries
- Procedures for assessing body composition, blood pressure, and pulse rate
- Substance abuse
- Exercise Physiology, and
- Nutrition

In addition, students will be instructed regarding the Fundamentals of Drill, and Defensive Tactics, and how these topics intersect with PT.

Note: As part of this class students will also receive their annual certification for the mandatory 4-hr DT training all Officers need.

Resources Required: All students need to be able to pass all elements of the current physical training performance test, which will be administered the morning of the first day of class.

Reporting Instructions: Monmouth County Police Academy at 0800 hours on the first day.
