Full Description
This class explores the impact of bias on Police and Community interactions, including its effects on friends, peers, and those you serve.  Participants will develop skills to minimize bias in daily decisions and enhance professionalism through improved conduct, ethics, and expertise.

Professionalism will be defined, and elements will be examined to highlight differences.  Various professions will be listed, and their relationship with Law Enforcement applications will be discussed.  The course will also consider ways to promote a positive Police image, contributing to achieving professionalism.  We will focus on prejudice and discrimination, examining how these intersect with cultural characteristics that can lead to conflict between Law Enforcement and the public.
