Full Description
New Jersey Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO I) training is a Police Training Commission (PTC) course preparing officers for limited duties like traffic/crowd control, parking enforcement, and issuing summonses for minor offenses (motor vehicle, ordinances) without carrying firearms, focusing on law, self-defense, CPR, and community responsibility, requiring agency sponsorship and leading to PTC certification for support roles in local law enforcement.

VERY IMPORTANT- reminder that your agency must apply to PTC for a license for your SLEO I’s. If you fail to do so they will not be able to work as SLEO I’s.
Reporting Instructions
Recruit will arrive and park their vehicle in our designated lot near the water retention pond, next to the 911 Center ( see attached map).

Recruit will be lined up in front of their "backed" in "locked" car no later than 7:30am sharp.

Recruit will be wearing the issued "Uniform of the Day" from their department.  

All recruits must have the following items on the first day:
1. Pen and Pencil.
2. Small pocket note pad and regular note pad.
3. Water
4. Lunch in a cooler bag.  Bring as much as you consume daily (Microwaves available).  ***Recruits will not be allowed to leave the Police Academy to get Lunch***

ARRIVE 15 minutes EARLY.  If you arrive at 7:30am you will be late.
