Brief Description: Firearms Application and Registration System (FARS) presented by NJSP

Full Description: The NJ Firearms Application and Registration System (FARS) is prescribed by the Superintendent of the NJ State Police for use by applicants for Firearms Purchaser I.D. Cards & Handgun Purchase Permits.

Firearms Application is used for any of the following reasons,

- Initial Firearms Purchaser Identification Card
- Application to purchase a handgun
- Change of Name on Identification Card
- Change of Address on Identification Card
- Change of Sex on Identification Card
- Electronic Firearms Purchaser Identification Card (for duplicate or lost Identification Card)

In addition, the FARS system is utilized by Law Enforcement Organizations to process applications, approve or deny requests, and issue Firearms Purchaser ID Cards and Handgun Purchase Permits.

This course is intended for both new and existing users.
