Brief Description: Cell Block Management & Extraction Class, 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Full Description: This half-day course is devoted to the requirements for operating and maintaining a safe and secure detention facility, as set forth in Chapter 34 of the New Jersey Administrative Code.

- The "Cell Block Management" segment will review sound security practices and will stress the minimum requirements for supervising detainees.
- The "Suicide Awareness" portion will focus on topics such as the profiling of suicidal detainees, the screening and supervision of such detainees, the various ways in which detainees may attempt suicide, the liability factor, and appropriate policy and procedures for handling suicide attempts.
- The "Cell Extraction" segment is designed to show Police and Corrections Officers how to use the least amount of force on a detainee, and will also show the use of a TWO-person take-down method.

Prerequisites: As the Training Officer responsible for registering personnel on behalf the employing agency, I affirm all of the following requirements:

1) The registrant is a sworn law enforcement officer (if required for this class).
2) The registrant is authorized to attend this training.
3) The registrant will abide by the academy dress code and/or other requirements set forth in the course description.
