New MOI, 6-WEEK class. Starts on Monday, January 27, and will be held once a week for SIX weeks.
Full Description
This class is being tried as a pilot program to see if the weekly schedule will make it easier for instructors and students to attend.  This particular MOI class will be held once a week for SIX weeks, as follows,
- Monday, January 27,
- Monday, Feb 3
- Monday, Feb 10
- TUESDAY, Feb 18 (due to President's Day falling on Feb 17)
- Monday, Feb 24
- Monday, March 3    

This is the newly revised Police Training Commission approved course designed for Officers who plan to teach at Police Academies or within their respective Agencies.  Topics include,
- The EIGHT principles of learning,
- Classroom management,
- Goals and performance objectives,
- Selecting appropriate methods of instruction,
- Lesson plan construction,
- Training aids,
- Testing and evaluation, and
- Personal presentations of a minimum of 15 and 30 minutes each.  

In addition, instructors have included other topics and exercises to enhance the course of instruction.

Course Fee: $300; Out-of-County Fee: $600

As the Training Officer responsible for registering personnel on behalf the employing agency, I affirm all of the following requirements:

1) The registrant is a sworn law enforcement officer (if required for this class).
2) The registrant is authorized to attend this training.
3) The registrant will abide by the academy dress code and/or other requirements set forth in the course description.

Reporting Instructions
Report to the Monmouth County Police Academy at 0900 hours on first day.  
Students must report in a business suit.  All other days are business suit or Class-A uniform.  Lead instructor will provide specific instruction regarding start and finish times, dress code, etc. at start of class.

You must have your supervisor's approval prior to registering for any in-service course.

TRAINING OFFICERS:  Authorized officials may register officers from their agency in any class.  If you are authorized to register personnel on behalf of your law enforcement agency, return to the Portal homepage and follow the instructions for "Training Coordinator Authorization".
