Brief Description: 10-day Defensive Tactics Instructor Certification, Fee is $100 In-County, $200 Out-of-County

Full Description: This is the TEN-day, PTC recognized and sanctioned course for any Officer who is going to instruct Defensive Tactics at the Police Academy or within their own Agency.

Topics include,

  -  Physiological Impact during High Stress Situations
  -  Use of Force
  -  Resistance and Compliance Techniques
  -  Stance, blocks, personal weapons
  -  Positional control
  -  Escapes from chokes, headlocks, grabs, and bearhugs
  -  Pain compliance control
  -  Reverses from side, mount, and guard
  -  Defending against knives and blunt objects
  -  Subject weapon concealment
  -  Positional handcuffing - And more

This is a physical TEN Days the student must be ready and able to perform all tasks associated with Defensive Tactics training.

NOTE: Due to the popularity of DTIC we must limit registrations to only TWO per Agency.

Resources Required: Proper head gear, mouthguards, and gloves are required.

Reporting Instructions: Monmouth County Police Academy at 0830 hours, dressed in attire sufficient to actively participate in hands-on DT. Sweat pants or shorts, sweatshirt or T-Shirts. Absolutely no DT school logos.
