Full Description: This class is for TRAINED / CERTIFIED Negotiators that serve their Agency, or a Team, in that capacity.

Dr. Andy Young is a 24-year civilian veteran of the Lubbock (Tx) Police Department SWAT Team, where he serves as a Negotiating Team Member and Psychological Consultant.  He serves in the same capacity for the Lubbock Sheriff's Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety.  He has authored numerous articles and books on the psychology of negotiations and his vast experiences with SWAT: to say he is experienced is an understatement.  Dr. Young will be presenting a 2-day Advanced Hostage Crisis Negotiation course.  During the two days, he will review the basics of negotiating and highlight effective strategies in negotiating with different personality types and psychiatric conditions.  He will discuss debriefings from callouts to which he has been involved, and other topics including,
- Working with SWAT Commanders and Team Members
- Negotiating via text message,
- Officer down negotiations.

Fee: $225 per Officer.  Registrations are capped at 20 students, so we must limit to TWO Officers per Agency.
