Brief Description
International Law Enforcement Officers' Hotline - An Officer's Lifeline
Full Description
COPLINE® is the first INTERNATIONAL Law Enforcement Officers hotline that is answered by retired LEO's.  It is imperative that Officers experiencing stress, anxiety, or any of the mentioned PTSD symptoms realize that there is a safe place to call and reach a vetted retired Officer who will get someone who can understand what they are going through.  Our hotline is also a safe resource for spouses, significant others, and children to call and speak to a trained active listener who can help them understand the circumstances of their loved-ones current situation.

COPLINE® has earned the trust of the LEO community by providing active listening through a hotline and maintaining complete confidentiality as well as anonymity if the caller chooses.  We train competent, confident, committed, and compassionate retired Officers to engage callers on the daily stressors Officers and their families experience.

THE VISION is to remove the stigma associated with an Officer’s decision to keep their emotions inside for fear of retribution or retaliatory action if their personal information, feelings, OR state of mind is revealed to their agency. COPLINE® volunteers conduct themselves with the highest level of honor and integrity.

MISSION STATEMENT  We firmly believe that maintaining one's anonymity and confidentiality are essential in providing an environment for Officers to reach out for help.

COPLINE® offers a CONFIDENTIAL 24-hour hotline answered by retired LEO's who have gone through a strenuous vetting and training process to become an active listener.  CopLine® retired Officer listeners provide assistance with the successful management of various psychosocial stressors that impact a significant number of LEO's and their families.

OUR GOAL to be part of the solution by reducing the stigma associated with reaching out for help.   LEO's need a safe place they can call to talk about anything occurring in their life. Issues from on-duty stressors (FTO’s/Supervisors), management decisions, hatred from the community, and violence/trauma experienced from patrol and off-duty stressors, such as addictions, financial pressure and relationship issues. Officers who are struggling with flashbacks, nightmares, depression, PTSD, and suicide ideation should not have to worry about “a knock on their door” after revealing their personal story.

Our goal is to make available our resource so that officers from all branches have an outlet, which they can turn to in times of need. If we provide our resource to every Officer from their first day on the job, informing them that they will never be alone, then Officers will have the tools necessary to navigate those difficult situations in their life.

CORE VALUES  We are dedicated to our callers and “Cops understand Cops” is not just a catch phrase. Our listeners have been exposed to the rigors of the LE profession, and our volunteers may have experienced similar situations. It is because of this understanding that we want to answer every Officer’s call.

Volunteering on a hotline is rewarding and our people are our most important commodity. We empower our volunteers to fulfill their responsibilities with knowledge, training, and appropriate discretion. We encourage them to submit ideas, we listen to their suggestions, and we help them develop to their maximum potential.
