Full Description
The Basic Course for Class I Special Law Enforcement Officers consists of 80 hours of training over 9 days mandated by the New Jersey Police Training Commission.

Resources Required
Applicant must be appointed as a Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer.  A copy of the Resolution must be submitted. Must possess a High School/GED Diploma to apply.  
The Monmouth County Police Academy follows the direction of the New Jersey Health Department, Monmouth County Health Department and the CDC Guidelines, which establishes our daily Covid-19 Protocol. We require mask, temperature checks (upon entering the building), handwashing and social distancing.  Covid 19 testing is required 5 days before the start of the class.  Please report the results to Training Officer Wesley Mayo, Jr prior to sending your recruit to the Police Academy.
Reporting Instructions
Report to the Monmouth County Police Academy at 7:15am. Park your vehicle in the parking lot adjacent to the Police Academy. You we lock your doors and stay in front your vehicle and wait for instructions.
Signup Details
This class is for Monmouth County Shore town Police Departments. The maximum is (5) students per Department for a total of 40 students. If you do not need 5 slots, please contact the Police Academy so those seats can be used.
