Full Description
The Combined BCPO / Basic Course for Class II Special Law Enforcement Officers course consists of 790 hours of training mandated by the New Jersey Police Training Commission.  
Upon graduation, trainees will be certified as a Class II Special law Enforcement Officer.
Tuition:  In County - $750.00 / Tuition:  Out of County - $1200.00

Due to COVID-19 and the mandated guidelines which have been implemented, the Monmouth County Police Academy will only be accepting BCPO and SLEO II trainees from Monmouth County.  For Monmouth County agencies, BCPO trainees will have precedence over SLEO II trainees.

Applicants must be appointed as a Class II Special Law Enforcement Officer. A copy of the Resolution must be submitted along with the application. Refer to the Academy Entrance Requirements for Police Recruits in the General Information section of the In-service Catalog.
Reporting Instructions
Recruits will report on August 2, 2021 at 8:00am am in full uniform as described in the Uniform Requirements for orientation. Agency Training will begin that afternoon and continue through August 4, 2021. Recruits will return on August 5, 2021 at 6:00 am, to begin basic training.

Signup Details
Authorized agency personnel may register trainees for basic courses. All documentation must be submitted and approved by academy administrative staff prior to trainee enrollment in the class. A basic course application packet for this class is included for download. Agencies are required to download the packet, fill out parts completely and then upload signed copies of the documents with an acceptable identification photo and a copy of the completed PTC Notice of New Appointment form that has been submitted as required by the New Jersey Police Training Commission.
