Full Description
The Basic Course for Police Officers training consists of 790 hours of training mandated by the Police Training Commission.

Due to COVID-19 and the mandated guidelines which have been implemented, the Monmouth County Police Academy will only be accepting BCPO and SLEO II trainees from Monmouth County.  For Monmouth County agencies, BCPO trainees will have precedence over SLEO II trainees.  SLEO II registration is limited to five (5) trainees per agency.  If an agency is requesting additional SLEO II spots, they can send an email with their request to Administrative Training Officer John Fay at jfay@mcsonj.org.  All additional requests, if space is available, will be evenly divided amongst requesting agencies.

Applicants must be appointed as full-time employees of municipal, county or state law enforcement agencies and conform to all the standards prescribed by the New Jersey Police Training Commission.

Reporting Instructions
Recruits will report to the Academy on January 11, 2021 at 8:00 am in full uniform for a half-day of orientation and be released to their respective agencies to commence "Agency Training". Recruits will then report on January 14 at 6:00 am to begin basic training.
